Anuga Select Brazil is a key promotional event for the food and beverage industry in Brazil and Latin America, serving as one of the most important platforms for strengthening international exchange and cooperation. The exhibition opens up new business opportunities for the sector, driving industry growth and innovation. At the same time, as one of South America’s largest economies, Brazil’s market potential and cultural diversity lend the event a distinctive appeal.

  1. III. Market Overview

Brazil is rich in natural resources and is the world’s largest producer of soybeans, coffee, sugar, and citrus fruits. It also holds a leading global position in the production and export of corn, beef, and chicken. Its industrial sector ranks first in Latin America, with key industries including steel, automobiles, and shipbuilding; moreover, Brazil has joined the ranks of the world’s most advanced nations in nuclear power and telecommunications. However, Brazil’s economy remains heavily reliant on commodity exports, and its industrial diversification remains insufficient.

China is Brazil’s largest trading partner, and the two countries enjoy a mutually complementary trade relationship. In the first quarter of 2025, bilateral trade between China and Brazil reached a record high for the same period, surpassing US$38.8 billion. Specifically, Brazil exported US$19.8 billion to China and imported US$19.0 billion from China, representing a year-on-year increase of 35%. In 2024, Brazil’s food industry posted sales growth of 9.9%, reaching R$1.27 trillion, accounting for 10.8% of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP). Of this total, the domestic market accounted for 72%, while exports totaled R$357 billion. The food and beverage sector is Brazil’s largest employer, directly employing 2 million people.
