II. Exhibition Overview:
Against the backdrop of global supply-chain restructuring and industrial relocation, Vietnam has emerged as one of the most closely watched markets in the international furniture, home‑goods, and building‑materials sectors. Supported by economic growth that consistently outpaces the global average, a demographic dividend of over 100 million people, and rapid urbanization, Vietnam is not only a strategic cornerstone of the ASEAN consumer market but also an emerging hub in the global export value chain.
Since 2008, Vietnam Union Furniture and Handicrafts Joint Stock Company has organized the VIFA Furniture Fair. As Vietnam’s longest-running, largest, and most prestigious furniture exhibition, VIFA is also one of Southeast Asia’s leading trade shows for export‑oriented furniture. Beginning in 2023, it has been held regularly twice a year—spring and autumn—and has so far staged 19 successful editions. In 2025, the combined spring and autumn events will span over 55,000 square meters, featuring more than 3,000 booths, attracting over 650 exhibitors and more than 20,000 professional visitors from over 80 countries and regions worldwide.
VIFA House & Building will be held in Ho Chi Minh City from September 2 to 5, 2026. Co-organized by the Foreign Trade Development Bureau of China’s Ministry of Commerce, together with the Vietnam Building Materials Association (VABM), the Ho Chi Minh City Association for Science and Technology in Construction, and other industry organizations, the event builds on VIFA’s extensive furniture offerings while placing a strong emphasis on showcasing products across supply chains—including home décor, textiles, household goods, and architectural finishes. The exhibition is expected to cover over 20,000 square meters, bringing together more than 500 exhibitors and over 20,000 professional visitors, with international attendees accounting for more than 40% of the total. As a high‑profile platform jointly promoted by official bodies and industry associations, this edition will create multiple opportunities for participating companies to enter the Vietnamese market, expand into the ASEAN region, and connect with global supply chains.

IV. Market Analysis:
Vietnam’s economy is growing robustly, making it a hotspot for consumption upgrading.
In recent years, Vietnam has maintained a robust annual GDP growth rate of 5%–7% (with GDP expanding by 5.05% in 2023), making it one of the fastest-growing economies in Southeast Asia. Meanwhile, Vietnam’s urbanization rate is projected to rise at an annual pace of approximately 1%, surpassing 45% by 2025, according to the General Statistics Office of Vietnam.
Vietnam’s middle-class population is projected to surpass 40 million by 2026, according to a Nielsen report. Spending on home environments has risen sharply, with rapid growth in categories such as large furniture, smart home products, eco-friendly building materials, and personalized soft furnishings. The online home‑goods retail market is expected to expand at an annual rate of over 20%.
Cost and Policy Advantages
Following the entry into force of the RCEP, more than 90% of trade in goods between China and Vietnam will ultimately be subject to zero tariffs.
Benefiting from tariff preferences under the EU–Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), and other agreements, it boasts strong export competitiveness.
The “China–Vietnam supply chain integration” model helps companies reduce their overall costs by 5% to 10%.
The “world’s factory” status remains solid, with robust exports.
Vietnam has become the world’s second-largest furniture exporter, trailing only China. In 2023, its exports of wood products and furniture totaled approximately US$14.5 billion, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs, and are projected to exceed US$17.5 billion in 2024. Its major export markets include the United States, the European Union, Japan, and South Korea. The U.S. is its largest buyer, accounting for roughly 55% of its total export value. Following the imposition of additional tariffs on Chinese goods, Vietnam has emerged as one of the primary beneficiaries of supply-chain diversification.
