People's Daily published a full-page article: Exhibition economy adds impetus to urban development

(2022 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) • Hong Kong and Macao) Guangdong-Macao cooperation enhances the influence of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Portuguese-speaking regions

Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, September 3rd (Reporters Wang Yuyuan, Wei Mengjia, Gong Zhe) In the “Health Services” special exhibition of the 2022 China International Fair for Trade in Services, the Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park of Cooperation between Guangdong and Macao, jointly developed by the People's Government of Guangdong Province and the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region, made a brilliant appearance. In recent years, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has achieved rapid development in innovative research and development and international promotion. Reporters learned that the Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park of Cooperation between Guangdong and Macao has carried out a series of activities targeting TCM technical exchanges and product trade between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, effectively enhancing the influence of TCM in Portuguese-speaking regions. In 2011, the Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park of Cooperation between Guangdong and Macao was officially launched in Hengqin as the first project implemented under the “Framework Agreement on Cooperation between Guangdong and Macao”. Benefiting from Macao's unique geographical advantages and Guangdong's innovative research and development foundation, the industrial park has built a TCM science and technology innovation service platform for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, promoting the integration of industry, academia, and research; it promotes the internationalization of TCM through the “medicine-driven by medical services” model, supporting the “Belt and Road” Initiative; and it promotes the transformation and application of industry-academia-research technologies and products, developing the big health industry. In terms of international promotion, the industrial park vigorously promotes the construction of TCM exchange bases, international education and training, and public services for overseas product registration, making active contributions to promoting exchanges and mutual understanding between traditional medicine in China and Portuguese-speaking countries, and expanding the market for TCM enterprises in Portuguese-speaking countries. In 2018, the industrial park leveraged Macao's role as a window to Portuguese-speaking countries and established the “International Young TCM Doctors Exchange Base” to build a platform for exchange and learning for young people from home and abroad. As of now, the base has conducted over 30 sessions of TCM professional training, TCM foreign language professional training, exchange salons, overseas practices, and other activities, and has carried out exchanges and cooperation with ten TCM universities in countries and regions such as Portugal, Mozambique, and Cape Verde. In recent years, TCM has demonstrated unique advantages in the global epidemic prevention and control, attracting high attention from the international community. In August this year, the International Young TCM Doctors Exchange Base launched the “Little Silver Needle TCM Classroom,” inviting TCM experts who have repeatedly gone to the frontline to fight the epidemic to share their TCM treatment experiences in the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of COVID-19, attracting widespread participation and interaction from young TCM doctors. At the same time, the industrial park expands the TCM market in Portuguese-speaking countries through international education and training. With Macao as a window and Mozambique as a pilot, the industrial park innovates the “medicine-driven by medical services” international promotion model, and replicates and promotes it in Cape Verde and surrounding countries. To date, the industrial park has cooperated in organizing 17 sessions of TCM-themed training and study programs for Portuguese-speaking countries, with professionals such as officials, technicians, public hospital doctors, and physical therapists from the health and traditional medicine fields in Portuguese-speaking countries participating in the learning. Wang Dan, manager of the International Exchange and Cooperation Center of the industrial park, stated that based on surveys and visits in Portuguese-speaking countries such as Mozambique and Cape Verde, the industrial park cooperates with local health departments to conduct TCM characteristic therapy training. After initial training in non-invasive therapies such as Tui Na, cupping, and moxibustion, basic acupuncture courses were gradually added. Among them, local public hospital doctors, physical therapists, and pharmacists trained in Mozambique have provided TCM therapy to over 30,000 Mozambican patients, with good clinical feedback. In addition, the Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park of Cooperation between Guangdong and Macao uses Portuguese-speaking countries as an entry point to provide services for international registration and trade of TCM products. Through business matching events and intergovernmental cooperation, the industrial park has obtained registration approvals for nine TCM drugs in Mozambique. In the Brazilian market, the industrial park has also helped seven domestic TCM products obtain registration and listing licenses for proprietary Chinese medicines. In March this year, the General Office of the State Council issued the “14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of Traditional Chinese Medicine,” pointing out the need to promote the modernization and industrialization of TCM, and to promote the high-quality development of TCM and its global reach. In the TCM exhibition area of the CIFTIS, themed “Developing Traditional Medicine, Promoting a Community of Shared Future for Human Health,” TCM industrial parks represented by the Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park of Cooperation between Guangdong and Macao continue to leverage their strengths and make active contributions to promoting TCM to the international stage. MIMS2022 Russia (Moscow) Auto Parts and Aftermarket Services Exhibition Grand Opening

Number of exhibiting companies: Over 600 Chinese exhibitors: 125 The Moscow International Exhibition of Auto Parts and After-Sales Service opened on August 22 at the IEC EXPOCENTRE International Exhibition Center in Moscow. 125 Chinese companies participated in this exhibition, with most participating remotely. 10 companies overcame the difficulties of the epidemic and participated on-site. The China Pavilion is located in the Forum Hall and Hall 2.1. The exhibition covers international distributors and importers from Russia and surrounding Eastern European countries such as Belarus and Kazakhstan. Exhibits cover the entire automotive industry: from design to auto parts, accessories, and repair equipment. Russia has the highest number of vehicles in Eastern Europe, providing strong impetus for the development of the auto parts and auto repair market. Russia's auto parts mainly come from imports, and China is one of the main import countries for Russian automobiles and auto parts. Under the influence of the complex international situation, with Western countries and the United States withdrawing from the Russian market, a gap has appeared in the Russian import market share, and Chinese companies face a huge market space in the automotive aftermarket. Seizing opportunities and going global is an urgent requirement for current Chinese foreign trade companies. Opportunities are always reserved for those who are prepared.

【First-person perspective】How do ordinary Africans view Chinese people?

I am a foreign trade salesperson and have been to Durban, Djibouti, and Ghana in Africa. Before going to Africa, I believed, like most people, that I had many different opinions. Now, I will describe it based on my personal experience, and you will find that the real Africa is not as people say.In 2011, my company sent me on a business trip to Africa. To be honest, I really didn't want to go at that time, but I couldn't refuse because of the company's arrangement. Before going to Africa, in my impression, Africa was associated with dirty, messy, and poor. It was not only poor but also full of viruses everywhere, and health issues were worrying. Moreover, I also heard that the security in Africa is very poor, it is best not to go out at night, robberies happen every day, and the police can't control them.I came to Africa with anxiety, and some previous hearsay made me very cautious along the way. I didn't dare to speak to black people proactively, I just ate some dry bread and drank some milk when I was hungry, and I didn't dare to eat anything at the airport convenience store after getting off the plane. After getting off the plane and seeing my colleagues stationed in Africa, I was relieved, dared to speak loudly, and released the tension and depression along the way.First impression of arriving in AfricaMy colleagues took me to the factory, and I met many local workers. They were very happy to see me, and many people took the initiative to bump fists with me to say hello. Some people would say a few simple Chinese words and ask me my name. This was the first time I came to Africa and met Africans. They were very enthusiastic, but their skin was particularly black. When I first arrived in Africa, my first impression was that it was particularly hot. The heat emanating from the ground made it unbearable, and I wished I could take off everything and hide in the refrigerator.I saw many people on the street not wearing clothes, or wearing tattered and untidy clothes, which didn't look very refreshing. Many buildings on the street are quite old, and I didn't see any skyscrapers. There are some miscellaneous wires hanging outside the buildings, some of which are directly bundled together, which is very insecure. I think this may be similar to the scene in China decades ago.On the streets, I could see many people sleeping on the ground. My colleagues told me that these people do this all day long, relying on begging for a living, and rummaging through trash cans when hungry. Because even if they beg, no one will give alms, this is the social phenomenon. In addition, Africa is a desertified and tropical area, with underdeveloped agriculture and industry. Therefore, the income of many people cannot support a family, and with many children, it is difficult to survive. Especially when children are sick, they may not even have money for medical treatment, and can only watch their lives being taken away by disease.Due to underdeveloped agriculture and poor planting effects, there is insufficient food supply, so for many families in African countries, being able to eat is already very good. They like Chinese people investing and setting up factories there, so they can have more income and more security in life. Most importantly, there are a lot of mosquitoes and insects in Africa, and they are very poisonous. My colleagues said that when he first came to Africa, he was accidentally bitten by mosquitoes and insects in the dormitory, and he didn't pay much attention to it, thinking it was the same as in China, being bitten by mosquitoes is a common thing. However, my colleague later fainted in the dormitory, and it was only thanks to the timely discovery of other colleagues that he was sent to the hospital for emergency treatment, otherwise, there would have been a life-threatening danger.During my time in Africa, I found that although these African workers may have problems even eating, their wages are very low, about a dozen yuan a day, but they are very satisfied and very happy. So, how do ordinary Africans view Chinese people?I will mainly talk about it from the following aspects.1. Chinese people are good at making moneyIn the impression of Africans, Chinese people are very business-minded, and being able to invest in Africa is a manifestation of being good at making money. Moreover, the wages of Chinese people in Africa are also very high. In the eyes of Africans, Chinese people are particularly rich, and those who can stay in Africa for a long time must be very rich.In the factory, the wages of Chinese people are unimaginable for African workers, they are simply top tycoons. Therefore, ordinary Africans think that Chinese people are very rich.2. Chinese people save money but don't enjoy themselvesIn the eyes of many Africans, Chinese people are good at making money and can save a lot of money in a year, but they are not willing to spend money and don't know how to enjoy life and experience the fun of life.In Africa, the locals don't have the concept of saving money, they spend whatever they earn that day. So while they enjoy life, they are also suffering from the merciless counterattack of life. When diseases come, they can only watch themselves or their relatives suffer from pain and torment, because they have no money for medical treatment, they may die of illness.3. Think Chinese people have good skinMaybe it's because the local Africans have dark skin, so they all think that Chinese people have good skin. But they say we have white skin, not that we Chinese have yellow skin. I think this is because their own skin is black, so they think that skin that is not black is white skin.Locally, beautiful African girls will also use whitening skin care products, although there is no obvious effect, but this may be a kind of psychological yearning. Many girls said they are willing to marry Chinese men, so that they can improve the skin of the next generation, and the children born will not have such dark skin, and mixed-race children are also very smart.4. Cannot understand the separated life of Chinese peopleIn the eyes of Africans, whether poor or rich, their families will not be separated, they will all live together. They said they couldn't understand us Chinese people in Africa. We Chinese can work in Africa alone, while our families and children stay in China, living a separated life, and may not see each other for a year. Africans said they couldn't understand this separated family life model of Chinese people.5. Chinese people are very friendlyIn the eyes of local Africans, they think Chinese people are the friendliest. They said they have also met people from other countries, but they are not so friendly, and some obviously show a superior attitude and are not respectful. But we Chinese people don't do that, we smile at people and take the initiative to greet them. So they think that we Chinese are easy to get close to, and they are more willing to work in Chinese factories.6. Chinese people are very hardworkingChinese people are very hardworking and are very interested in making money. Overtime work is often seen in factories in China. In the eyes of Africans, we Chinese people love work very much, are very hardworking, will not be lazy, and will not be picky about work.7. Chinese people use smartphonesAt that time, many local people in Africa did not have mobile phones, and some only had button phones, like the kind of elderly phones in China. In their eyes, we Chinese people use smartphones and can surf the Internet freely, which is really enviable. They also yearn to have a smartphone, but it is difficult, in the face of their meager income, a smartphone is simply a sky-high price. In short, in the eyes of ordinary Africans, the impression of us Chinese people is still good, and they all said that if they have the opportunity, they are willing to come to China to have a look.If you plan to go to Africa in the future, what aspects should you pay special attention to?1. Malaria in AfricaAs mentioned above, there are many mosquitoes and insects in Africa, and they are highly toxic. Coupled with the harsh environment in Africa, once infected with malaria, it is a very dangerous thing. In Africa, children often lose their lives due to malaria. Therefore, if you plan to travel to Africa, it is best to take malaria medicine and mosquito repellent drugs to add more protection to your health.2. Don't show off your wealthWhen you go to Africa, you must keep a low profile and never show off your wealth. Chinese people will attract attention as soon as they arrive in Africa, and if you show off your wealth, you are easily targeted. Many people in Africa are starving, and seeing you so high-profile and rich, you should be careful that your property will be emptied, and you should also worry about your life safety. Don't expect the local police to help you solve these problems, because this is a common social problem, and the police's power is limited.3. Don't go out at nightIn Africa, it's chaotic during the day, let alone at night. The overall security will make you very worried. It is best not to go out at night. For your life and property safety, prepare the necessary items during the day and rest in the hotel at night.4. Don't throw cigarette butts everywhereIn Africa, don't smoke casually, and don't throw cigarette butts everywhere, you will be fined. Especially in places like Rwanda and Senegal. The requirements for smoking bans are very high, and there will be special people to manage them. If they find anyone smoking or throwing cigarette butts indiscriminately, they will be heavily fined. In conclusion:Ordinary Africans have a good impression of us Chinese people, especially African girls, who are very willing to come to China and are willing to marry to China. Everyone in every country deserves respect, and every country has its own cultural characteristics. We must respect and understand each other in order to contribute to the harmonious and peaceful development of the world. The article is from the Internet
