03-15
Chinese Embassy in Australia 18 The day revealed that the Governor-General of Australia, Peter Cosgrove, recently signed an order to amend the country's 1994 Immigration Act. According to the amended law, Australia will implement a 10-year multiple "frequent traveler visa" for Chinese citizens. This is the first time Australia has issued a 10-year multiple visa to foreign citizens, and it is currently only implemented for Chinese citizens.
According to the new order, Australia will issue this visa to Chinese "frequent travelers" who come to Australia for tourism and business activities to reduce the burden of visa applications for those in need. Holders of this visa can enter and exit multiple times within the 10-year validity period, and can stay in Australia for a maximum of 90 days each time. The current fee for this visa is 1000 Australian dollars (approximately 5100 Chinese yuan), and will be adjusted as needed.
Applicants must undergo a medical examination at a designated medical institution as required, must not be a tuberculosis patient, and must apply from outside Australia. At the same time, visa holders must also comply with some requirements, including 24 months in total in Australia shall not exceed 12 months; shall not be employed in Australia; shall not study or train in Australia for more than 3 months; shall not apply to change to other types of visas while in Australia; shall depart before the end of the permitted stay; shall report to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection 2 working days before any changes in personal information, etc.
The Chinese Embassy in Australia reminds Chinese citizens who wish to apply for this type of visa to pay attention to the specific implementation time and plan announced on the website of the Australian Embassy in China.
2015 The number of Chinese tourists visiting Australia has exceeded 100 million, and China has become Australia's most important source of overseas tourists. The newly introduced 10 year visa aims to further simplify the process for Chinese citizens to enter Australia, in order to attract more "repeat customers" to visit or conduct business activities.
