2014 SEMA Show Team Leader's Notes
03-19
The car sped along the southern section of the Jiqing Expressway. Miss Wei and I both marveled at the autumnal beauty of the Qilu land, which had a certain Washington-like charm. The leaves were all dyed golden by autumn, rows of trees stretching into the distance, with occasional breezes scattering fallen leaves. November, it's time for the Las Vegas tour group again. A busy year has unknowingly come to an end; time flies…
The same Qingdao tour group gathering, the same greetings between old friends who haven't seen each other for a long time, the same Korean Air flight, and Director Ju is again learning the air hostess's "simitda." Everything is the same; we've flown to the other side of the ocean…
Immigration in Los Angeles was still slow. Because of the Las Vegas exhibition, a long queue formed at the exit. The leaders of the Chinese exhibition groups were all staring intently at the exit, hoping to see their group members emerge. Colorful tour guide flags waved back and forth, like the scene of various heroes gathering in a movie, somewhat comical and somewhat spectacular. Fortunately, although slow, there were no unexpected issues. Immigration was relatively smooth.
After immigration, we made a long journey to Las Vegas and checked into the hotel. Las Vegas, unseen for a year, was still so brightly lit, and the Monte Carlo was still so lively. As expected, there were many Chinese exhibition groups staying at the Monte Carlo. Naturally, everyone likes a good hotel. The difference was that only our group arranged three buffet breakfasts in the hotel, while other groups had meals delivered. When the guests are happy, we are naturally happier.
This year's SEMA show was once again unprecedentedly grand and impressive. Compared to previous years, the scale of this year's exhibition has expanded significantly. In addition to the existing exhibition halls, all three halls of the sky bridge were filled, and a large outdoor tent area was also set up. This was the first time SEMA had set up a tent area. The four-day exhibition attracted more than 2,300 manufacturers and trading companies from over 150 countries and regions worldwide, covering an area of over 90,000 square meters, with more than 60,000 professional visitors and buyers. The grand scale of the SEMA show is evident. Such a popular exhibition must be very rewarding for businesses.
When we first arrived in Las Vegas, the four-day exhibition seemed long, but it seemed to pass in a flash. Sitting on the bus back to Los Angeles, after four days of hard work, the guests were half asleep, whether resting, thinking, reminiscing, or admiring the departing Las Vegas through the window. A rare moment of leisure, with headphones on, listening to the Eagles' "California Hotel." In the hazy night, there were still a few rays of the setting sun. Body and mind relaxed, this brief moment of tranquility was so beautiful.
After the exhibition, of course, it was time to relax. Some guests went to Hawaii with Miss Wei to experience the beautiful ocean, blue sky, sunshine, and beaches. I went to Universal Studios with another group of guests to experience the magic of movie making. The cool 4D Transformers, Mummy Returns, King Kong, Jurassic Park, etc., amazed the group members, who exclaimed their satisfaction. The charm of technology is captivating.
Beyond the wonderful itinerary, the guests were worried about the anti-dumping and countervailing duty investigation launched by the United States. Our exhibition group, along with all tire companies, will closely monitor the developments of the anti-dumping and countervailing duty investigation. We hope everything goes smoothly, and that next year, we can all have fun together again.
