"Making digital transformation accessible"—this was the vision of Hannover Messe 2019. After five days, the exhibition concluded, and the organizers officially released the post-show report, with pleasing results. The most important topics at this global leading industrial technology event included: Artificial intelligence in the industrial and robotics fields, the new 5G mobile communication standard in industrial applications, lightweight design, and the future of work in the context of the rapid development of digitalization.
"Hannover Messe 2019 proved to the world that it provides an important platform for showcasing industrial transformation technologies," said Dr. Köckler, Chairman of the Board of Management of Deutsche Messe AG. "More than 215,000 visitors used Hannover Messe as a platform to invest in new technologies and prepare for future trade development." Only Hannover can provide a comprehensive perspective, allowing visitors to understand application scenarios, the potential and interaction of Industry 4.0, artificial intelligence, 5G, and energy solutions. ”
Approximately 6,500 exhibitors from around the world showcased solutions for the future of manufacturing and energy supply, including over 500 cases involving the deployment of artificial intelligence in industrial manufacturing, 5G applications, energy, and power transmission solutions. Robots were also a major attraction for visitors. Leading robot manufacturers and startups showcased practical applications for all sectors of the industry. Partner country Sweden stood out with its high technology, with 160 exhibiting companies.
The exhibition attracted 215,000 professional visitors, nearly 40% of whom came from abroad. "The record number of participants at this year's exhibition once again confirms the international significance of Hannover Messe and showcases Germany's strength as an industrial powerhouse," said Dr. Köckler. Following German visitors, the number of Chinese visitors (7,200) ranked second, followed by the Netherlands (5,900), Italy (3,400), and the United States (3,400). The number of visitors from partner country Sweden was 2,600.
Exhibitors gave the exhibition high praise. “The fog surrounding the development of the mechanical engineering industry is gradually dissipating, and Hannover Messe is playing an increasingly important role as a beacon for the industry and innovation.” Mechanical engineers are at the forefront of the product connectivity era, and the strong interest of exhibition visitors in machine-to-machine communication and the OPC unified architecture, a ‘global machine language,’ confirms that our members are at the forefront of development. Another key factor in integrating manufacturing is the high-speed 5G mobile communication standard, and Hannover Messe showed strong momentum in this area. In recent years, the Industry 4.0 wave has been sweeping, and this year's exhibition revealed how much progress we have made from the beginning to now,” said Thilo Brodtmann, Managing Director of the German Engineering Federation.
“5G and Hannover Messe are a perfect match. ” said Klaus Mittelbach, CEO of the ZVEI industrial association. “Next year's exhibition will focus on 5G technology applications. Companies in the electrical engineering and electronics industries are eager to use this new mobile communication standard. Like artificial intelligence, 5G technology will become an important competitive factor. ”He concluded.
