Thailand releases announcement on implementation measures to shorten inbound quarantine period to 10 days
03-23
China Qiaowang, March 23rd news: According to a compilation report from Thailand's 'World Daily', Thailand's COVID-19 Situation Administration Center recently approved in an internal high-level meeting that starting April 1st, the quarantine period for inbound travelers will be reduced from 14 days to 10 days. The new system's operational procedures were explained on March 22nd via their official social media account.
The announcement from the COVID-19 Situation Administration Center states that regardless of Thai or foreign nationality, all individuals must comply with the new regulation of a 10-day quarantine upon entry, and undergo two COVID-19 tests during the quarantine period: the first between day 3 and day 5 of quarantine, and the second on day 9 or day 10 of quarantine.
However, not all inbound travelers can shorten their quarantine period to 10 days. If individuals are from countries or regions where mutant COVID-19 viruses have appeared, they must still quarantine for 14 days upon arrival in Thailand.
Furthermore, the activities allowed during the 10-day quarantine period have also been relaxed, permitting them to conditionally leave their rooms during specified times to exercise at the gym, use swimming pools and outdoor exercise equipment, and purchase food and goods. However, the aforementioned activities must still be conducted within the confines of the quarantine facility. There are also slight differences in the document preparation required before entry. Foreign nationals will no longer need to provide a fit-to-fly document, but must still obtain a negative RT-PCR test certificate for COVID-19 within 72 hours before departure.
As for Thai citizens, they can choose to submit either a fit-to-fly document or a negative RT-PCR test certificate for COVID-19.
