Searching for ancient city ruins, Boating on Weishan Lake - 2022 Zhengho Exhibition Annual Travel Photography Contest Works Appreciation

       Every trip reveals that the world is wider than imagined. The destination for the 2022 Zhenghe Exhibition annual travel check-in was chosen as the National 5A-level scenic area - Taierzhuang Ancient City and Weishan Lake Red Lotus Wetland Scenic Area.

      Taierzhuang Ancient City is called “the living ancient canal” and “the only remaining heritage village of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal” by the World Tourism Organization. Inside Taierzhuang Ancient City, there are ancient river courses, ancient wharves, the Chinese Ancient Water City, the Taierzhuang Battle Memorial Hall, and the Cross-Strait Exchange Base. It is one of only two cities in the world, along with Warsaw, the capital of Poland, that were destroyed by the gunfire of World War II and rebuilt as World Cultural Heritage sites. 

      Weishan Lake Wetland Red Lotus Tourist Scenic Area is the largest, most primally preserved, and best wetland landscape in East China, and the largest lotus viewing area in China, known as “China’s Lotus Capital.”

Water town in a dream! Get drunk on the beautiful night scenery of Taierzhuang Ancient City

       Taierzhuang, with beautiful scenery, is like a water town in a dream. As night falls, the ancient city glows under the lights, and the night view makes the ancient city look not only beautiful but also highlights the aesthetic appeal of ancient architecture, making one intoxicated and unable to extricate oneself.
