II. Exhibition Introduction

The Thailand International Machinery Manufacturing Exhibition is held annually in Bangkok, Thailand, and has been successfully held for 24 sessions. The last exhibition attracted 55,580 business visitors from Southeast Asian countries for business negotiations and 2,100 exhibitors from 25 countries and regions. The exhibition area was approximately 60,000 square meters. With machinery manufacturing and mechanical equipment as its two main themes, the exhibition is highly professional and technically representative, reflecting the development level of machinery manufacturing and equipment in Asia. In recent years, Thailand has actively participated in regional economic cooperation, joining the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and the ASEAN Free Trade Area (AFTA), actively participating in the cooperation among China, Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar on water and land transportation in the upper Mekong River region, and promoting the "Economic Growth Triangle" process in the adjacent regions of Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia. With the development of manufacturing and service industries, especially the rise of the tourism industry, Thailand's economic structure has undergone significant changes, gradually transforming from an agricultural country that mainly exported agricultural products in the past to a newly industrialized country. In Sino-Thai trade, mechanical equipment occupies a major position in Thailand's imports from China.

III. Market Analysis

Thailand is the second-largest economy in Southeast Asia, after Indonesia, and is recognized as one of the world's emerging industrial countries and emerging market economies. Manufacturing, agriculture, and tourism are the main sectors of the economy. Thailand is the only net exporter of food in Asia and one of the world's top five agricultural product exporters. The manufacturing industry, including the electronics industry, is developing rapidly, with significant changes in industrial structure. The automotive industry is a pillar industry, making Thailand the automotive manufacturing center of Southeast Asia and the largest automotive market in ASEAN;

In 2018, bilateral trade in goods between Thailand and China reached US$79.93 billion, an increase of 7.8%. Of this, Thailand imported US$50.23 billion from China, an increase of 12.3%, accounting for 20% of Thailand's total imports. Thailand's trade deficit was US$20.53 billion, an increase of 33.9%.

Electromechanical products account for half of Thailand's total imports from China. In 2018, imports reached US$23.57 billion, an increase of 12.9%, accounting for 46.9% of Thailand's total imports from China.

Thailand is an important node country in the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road"; In 2017, Thailand's GDP achieved a growth of 4%, with total imports and exports reaching US$459 billion, exports reaching US$236 billion, and imports reaching US$227 billion, representing increases of 10% and 14.7%, respectively. Thailand has launched a 20-year national development strategy, Thailand 4.0 strategy, and the Eastern Economic Corridor development plan, vigorously promoting infrastructure construction, ten key industries and super industries, and border economic zones. These measures are highly consistent with and complement China's "Belt and Road" initiative;

Bangkok is the capital and largest city of Thailand, the second-largest city in Southeast Asia. Its GDP accounts for 44% of Thailand's total economy, and the Port of Bangkok handles 90% of Thailand's cargo transportation. Bangkok is an important logistics, financial, and exhibition center in Southeast Asia;
