II. Exhibition Introduction

AAPEX, short for "The Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo," is jointly organized by the Auto Care Association, The Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA), and the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA). Held annually, it takes place regularly at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas.

AAPEX is one of the world's largest, most effective, and renowned professional exhibitions for the automotive aftermarket. It brings together automotive parts users, after-sales service providers, traders, and other industry professionals from North America, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and other regions. According to official statistics, in 2022, 1407 companies from 35 countries and regions participated, with approximately 3500 booths, attracting 45,550 professional buyers from 121 countries and regions.

III. Market Analysis

The United States is the largest destination for China's auto parts exports. In 2021, the United States remained the largest export destination for China's automotive parts and accessories, exceeding the combined exports to Japan, South Korea, and Mexico, reaching $17.475 billion, a year-on-year increase of 33.3%. The US has the largest number of vehicles in operation and is the second largest new car sales market after China. The market has a long history of development, and the entire industrial chain is highly developed. However, over the past 20 years, due to stagnant new car demand, coupled with intensified market competition and increasingly stringent regulations, traditional US automakers have declined, failing to generate positive returns for shareholders. However, the automotive aftermarket has flourished, with a surge in stock prices for many auto sales and service companies. Large retail and repair service chains in the automotive aftermarket have seen stock price increases of over 30 times in the past 20 years. In 2021, the US had 290 million vehicles in operation, with a population of 326.77 million, almost reaching one car per person, and an average vehicle age of 12 years, a year-on-year increase of 0.6 years. General Motors, Ford, and Toyota are the three manufacturers with the largest number of vehicles in operation. Since 2020, the prices of US automobiles and their derivatives have cumulatively increased by 55%-68%. The US automotive aftermarket is valued at $405 billion, ranking as the third largest industry in the US market. There are 538,000 repair and retail stores in the US, operating over 280 million cars and trucks, with an average of more than one vehicle per registered driver. In the automotive repair sector, 80% of the business is handled by third-party stores, while only 20% is DIY by car owners; 70% of the business is handled by independent automotive aftermarket stores, and only 30% is handled by 4S stores, the latter mostly in insurance scenarios.
