The 2023 Indonesia International Tire & Rubber and Auto Parts Exhibition will be held at Jakarta International Expo (JIEXPO) Kemayoran from May 24th to 26th. The exhibition will comprehensively showcase products and services from spare parts, buses, trucks, bicycles, fasteners, tires, lubricants, and garage equipment platforms, displaying the complete integration of technology and products through the value chain. In 2019, the exhibition attracted more than 1,000 exhibitors from 25 countries and regions, including Malaysia, India, Taiwan, Pakistan, Singapore, the Philippines, South Korea, China, Thailand, Turkey, and Indonesia, attracting more than 20,000 professional visitors from 40 countries and regions to visit and purchase, with an exhibition area of 40,000 square meters. Indonesia's automotive industry has become a pillar of manufacturing. In 2017, Indonesia's vehicle sales reached 1.1 million units, with a growth rate of 5%, and strong domestic consumption. In 2017, Indonesia imported US$518 million worth of vehicles and parts from China, a year-on-year increase of 12.5%, accounting for 1.7%.
From January to March 2018, Indonesia imported US$128 million worth of vehicles and parts from China, accounting for 1.6%.
According to the disclosed data, from January to July this year, Indonesia's cumulative exports reached US$93.59 billion, a year-on-year increase of 17.62%; imports reached US$86.2 billion, a year-on-year increase of 14.01%; and a trade surplus of US$7.39 billion was achieved.

　　According to statistics from the Indonesian Automotive Manufacturers Association, there are currently 40 automotive assembly plants in Indonesia, employing about 27,000 employees, while the component industry has created more than 300,000 jobs. Indonesia has almost no local manufacturers that are 100% invested in the automotive OEM parts industry. Most are joint ventures or factories invested by Japan, Taiwan, or South Korea.
Most of the parts needed for Indonesia's vehicle industry rely on imports, mainly imported in the form of SKD. Locally produced parts are those with readily available raw materials and high demand domestically, such as tires, metal components produced by forging, casting, and stamping, batteries, and injection-molded and extruded plastic parts. Other parts, such as automotive electronic products, chassis, engine, transmission, steering, braking, and suspension system parts, need to be imported.
