Exhibition Overview:

Since 2016, the Kazakhstan International Automotive Expo (KIAE), in collaboration with the Automechanika brand, has provided a professional exchange platform for automotive market participants in Europe and Asia. It facilitates entry into the Kazakhstan and surrounding regional automotive markets, helping exhibitors connect with local and regional buyers. The Korme Exhibition Center is designed to international high standards. It is located near the new business center of Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, close to various ministries, large state-owned enterprise office buildings, and major city thoroughfares, with convenient access to Astana International Airport.

The previous exhibition attracted 134 exhibitors from 8 countries and 2,111 visitors from 13 regions of Kazakhstan and 15 other countries. In addition to showcasing the latest products and advanced technologies, the exhibition also held the Kazakhstan Automotive Forum, where 70 industry leaders provided a comprehensive analysis of the current automotive market, discussed changes in the Kazakhstan aftermarket, and explored ways to promote trade relations with partner countries. The forum provided insights into the Kazakhstan auto parts market and discussed the localization of passenger and commercial vehicles.

Geographical Advantages:

Located in Central Asia, Kazakhstan is the world's largest landlocked country, spanning both Asia and Europe, serving as a bridge connecting the two continents. It is situated along the routes of the first and second Eurasian land bridges. Historically, Kazakhstan was a crucial point on the Silk Road. Its new capital, Astana, located in northern Kazakhstan, is the country's largest transportation hub, connecting various regions through an extensive network of highways and railways.

Industry Prospects:

A significant portion of vehicles in Kazakhstan are over 10 years old, creating a substantial market for auto parts and after-sales services. The Kazakhstan automotive market is valued at approximately $5 billion, encompassing vehicles, parts, accessories, and maintenance equipment, with 82% reliant on imports. The Kazakhstan automotive industry possesses immense growth potential. In 2014, Kazakhstan manufacturers produced 37,000 vehicles, with plans to increase annual production to 300,000 by 2020.

By the end of 2014, local investment in the automotive industry exceeded 3 billion tenge, with 1.44 billion tenge allocated to automotive manufacturing. The Kazakh government provides significant support to the automotive industry. In 2014, official dealers invested over 8 billion tenge in new automotive centers in Kazakhstan. In 2015, the government planned an additional 20 billion tenge to stimulate the domestic automotive industry. Andrei Lavrentyev, chairman of the Kazakhstan Automotive Business Association, stated that Kazakhstan would complete its investment plan for the transition to assembled vehicle production in 2016.

With the progress of Eurasian integration, Kazakhstan has opened up new markets and channels. Trade relations between China and Kazakhstan are also becoming increasingly close, making it an opportune time for Chinese automotive brands to enter the Kazakhstan market.
