Market Background:

The Indian government has invested heavily in the construction of the Golden Quadrilateral highway connecting Delhi and Kolkata. This highway is approximately 3633 miles long and passes through India's most populous cities: New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata. This is the largest public infrastructure project in Indian history. The construction of the Golden Quadrilateral highway and government restrictions on the weight of heavy trucks mean that road conditions in India will gradually improve, and that bias ply tires, which once dominated the Indian tire market, will gradually be replaced by better-performing radial tires.

With upgrades in production, R&D, and management capabilities, Indian tire companies such as Alliance, Apollo, BKT, Ceat, MRF, and JK are gradually shifting their focus from the domestic market to export markets. There are a total of 40 tire companies (47 factories) in India. Among them, the five largest tire companies account for more than 80% of the OEM market, aftermarket, and export market transactions. They are MRF, Apollo Tyres, JK, Ceat Tyres, and Goodyear India Tyres, in order.
