To further deepen cooperation and exchanges with the Netherlands in horticultural protected agriculture, animal husbandry and other sectors, a delegation from Weifang National Comprehensive Pilot Zone for Agricultural Opening-up conducted economic and trade matchmaking activities in the Netherlands from June 10 to 13 local time.
During the visit, the delegation hosted the China (Weifang)-Netherlands Agricultural Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Meeting. Officials from the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy in the Netherlands, together with more than 30 local enterprises and institutions including the Dutch Agricultural Association, Dutch Protected Horticulture Federation, Greenhouse Delta and Shandong Chamber of Commerce in the Netherlands, attended the event and shared insights. At the meeting, the Dutch Branch of the Global Agricultural Service Trade Business Linkage Center was officially inaugurated. The branch will further integrate resources from Dutch business associations, enterprises and institutions, and build a cooperation platform for agricultural trade, investment, technical collaboration and two-way exchanges of visits.
The delegation also paid visits to research institutes and leading enterprises such as Wageningen University, World Horti Center, Royal De Heus Group and Ridder Group. Ten enterprises from Weifang were organized to participate in GreenTech Amsterdam 2026, the International Horticultural Technology & Facilities Exhibition of the Netherlands. At the booth, the delegation promoted Weifang’s experience in agricultural opening-up and the development of the national agricultural pilot zone, and reached a number of memorandums of understanding for cooperation covering joint construction of livestock and poultry industrial projects, introduction of protected agriculture technologies, as well as import and export trade of agricultural and food products.
Going forward, taking this round of economic and trade matchmaking as an opportunity, Weifang National Comprehensive Pilot Zone for Agricultural Opening-up will uphold the philosophy of joint development and mutual benefit. It will expand international cooperation channels through industrial linkage and elevate the level of agricultural opening-up via pragmatic collaboration, striving to set a new benchmark for China-Netherlands agricultural economic and trade cooperation and contribute to polishing the national brand of Chinese agriculture going global in the new era.(Reproduced from Dazhong Network)
