Yesterday, the 17th SIAL China International Food and Beverage Exhibition (SIAL China) was grandly opened at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. The 2016 SIAL China covered 11 exhibition halls from W1-W5 and E1-E6, attracting nearly 3,000 exhibitors from 67 countries and regions worldwide. The number of international exhibitors increased by 11% compared to previous years. On the first day, 32,000 professional visitors attended, setting a new record for visitor numbers!
Domestic exhibitors came from 29 provinces and cities across China. Many local exhibition groups actively participated as always, continuing their long-term cooperation with SIAL China to showcase the characteristics of their regional food and beverage industries, offering a glimpse into China's food production and innovation. For example: Shandong Provincial Department of Commerce, Zhejiang Provincial Department of Agriculture, Shanghai Municipal Commission of Agriculture, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Heilongjiang Sub-council, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Gansu Sub-council, Gansu Provincial Bureau of Liquor Administration, Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce, Shandong Province Jimo International Trade City Management Committee, Ningbo Bonded Zone, Changchun Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Dongguan Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Ningbo Municipal Commission of Commerce, etc.
Our province's participation in this exhibition was organized by the Provincial Department of Commerce, with Shandong Zhenghe International Exhibition as the organizer. More than 100 enterprises participated, making it the largest group of exhibitors domestically. This included leasing 558 square meters of bare space, building 60 specially decorated booths, and organizing leading agricultural product and food industry enterprises to participate. Weihai Korea Commodity City and Jimo Small Commodity Market businesses actively participated in groups, further enhancing and shaping the competitiveness and brand advantages of the province's food industry.
