The annual Lagos International Trade Fair, Nigeria's largest comprehensive trade exhibition, concluded successfully on November 11, 2012, with China winning the title of "Best Exhibiting Country." Shandong Zhenghe International Exhibition Co., Ltd., as the organizer of the China exhibition for six consecutive years, received widespread attention and praise from all parties involved in the exhibition.
The Lagos International Trade Fair boasts a long history, starting in 1981 and having been held for 26 consecutive years. It is Nigeria's largest import and export comprehensive trade fair, showcasing over 10 major categories and more than 30 sub-categories of products, including machinery, electromechanical electronics, building materials, hardware, auto parts, and daily necessities. This year's China Commodity Exhibition, held from November 6-10 at the TBS Square in the heart of Lagos, occupied 2250 square meters. 113 companies from twelve provinces and cities in China, including Shanghai, Chongqing, Tianjin, Zhejiang, Shandong, Jiangsu, Hebei, Henan, Fujian, Guangdong, Shaanxi, and Liaoning, participated, with over 200 exhibitors and 142 booths. Over 20 local mainstream media outlets, including NTA2, PUNCH, and BUSINESSDAY, provided detailed coverage of the China Pavilion.

Consul General Liu Xianfa and Commercial Consul Jia Ping from the Chinese Consulate General in Lagos attended the opening ceremony of the China Pavilion and delivered speeches. Consul General Liu expressed gratitude to the organizers and co-organizers and extended a warm welcome to all participating companies. He highlighted Nigeria's three major advantages: large market potential, abundant resources, and a strong talent pool. He noted the popularity of Chinese goods in Nigeria and the strong complementarity between the two countries' economic and trade cooperation. He emphasized that Chinese companies participating in the exhibition could showcase high-quality products, excellent culture, and a positive international image, further promoting friendly exchanges and trade development between China and Nigeria.
Mr. You, Overseas Manager of Jiangsu Zhongli Technology Group Co., Ltd., a participant in this exhibition, introduced: "This is our first time participating in an African exhibition. Although the journey was long and access to information on African trade within China was limited, we had been struggling to find opportunities to explore the African market. Through participation in the Lagos International Trade Fair, our company has achieved good publicity and promotion in the West African market, successfully establishing relationships with a number of new and existing local clients. We also received orders on-site. Most importantly, we were able to communicate face-to-face with local clients, allowing our company's products to truly meet the needs of buyers firsthand. This has played a key role in adjusting our strategy for exporting to the African market. In short, the exhibition results were quite satisfactory."
