Shandong Export Food and Agricultural Products Quality and Safety Demonstration Province Global Roadshow Budapest Stop Successfully Held

On June 1, 2018, the Shandong Export Food and Agricultural Products Quality and Safety Demonstration Province Global Roadshow (Budapest Station) was successfully held in Hungary.

During the roadshow conference, Zhou Xinjian, the Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Hungary, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Lü Wei, Deputy Director of the Shandong Provincial Department of Commerce, gave a keynote speech, focusing on promoting the Shandong New and Old Kinetic Energy Conversion Comprehensive Pilot Zone, introducing the general situation of Shandong's food and agricultural product production and trade, and putting forward six suggestions and measures to promote food and agricultural product trade cooperation between Shandong and Hungary; Péter, President of the Hungary-China Economic and Trade Association, attended the meeting and delivered a welcome speech. The Hungarian Agricultural Chamber and Gödöllő Szent István University introduced the situation of Hungarian agricultural production and agricultural product trade, respectively. The Romanian Transylvanian China-Romania Association introduced the domestic market consumption situation of Romanian food and agricultural products; Qingdao Customs introduced China's import policies for food and agricultural products, and the Jinan Municipal Bureau of Commerce and the Ju County People's Government introduced local agricultural product production and trade and agricultural product quality and safety construction, respectively; Yantai Zhongnongpi E-commerce Co., Ltd. and Hungary's Finefix Company signed a cooperation agreement on cross-border e-commerce and large-scale agricultural and sideline product transactions. More than 50 Hungarian food and agricultural product import and export enterprises, commerce, agriculture, and marine fisheries departments of 14 cities in the province, and governments of counties (cities, districts) such as Shouguang, Ju, and Yanggu, as well as 49 food and agricultural product import and export enterprises, daily consumer goods purchasing enterprises, and cross-border e-commerce enterprise representatives, totaling about 200 people, attended the meeting.

During the on-site consultation phase of the roadshow, Shandong enterprises held talks with food and agricultural product import enterprises from Hungary and surrounding countries, reaching preliminary agreements on the export of products such as chili peppers and garlic; at the same time, the Hungary-China Economic and Trade Association specially held a "Central and Eastern European Agricultural Specialty Products Exhibition" for this on-site consultation. About 50 companies from 8 surrounding countries, including Hungary, Croatia, and Serbia, participated in the exhibition, and Shandong enterprises held talks with the exhibitors, reaching cooperation agreements on the import of products such as dairy products, red wine, and beef.
During their stay in Budapest, the Shandong economic and trade delegation visited the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy in Hungary, learning in detail about the current economic and trade cooperation between China and the 16 Central and Eastern European countries, especially Hungary. They conducted field visits to the China-Europe Trade and Logistics Park and the Hungarian Green Bridge Agricultural Market, and conducted docking on establishing overseas warehouses for cross-border e-commerce and setting up special sales areas for agricultural products.
