Gong Zheng led the Shandong Provincial delegation on a successful visit to Australia, New Zealand and Belarus

From September 6th to 15th, 2017, Gong Zheng, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Shandong Province, led the Shandong Provincial Delegation on a successful visit to Australia, New Zealand, and Belarus, further strengthening exchanges and deepening cooperation. A series of significant achievements were made, injecting strong impetus and vitality into integrating with the "Belt and Road" initiative, improving Shandong's open economy, accelerating the implementation of the major project for transforming old and new growth drivers, and promoting innovative, sustainable, and leading development.
On September 6th, the China (Shandong)-Australia Investment and Trade Exchange Conference and the Shandong Provincial Major Project Promotion Conference for Transforming Old and New Growth Drivers were successfully held in Sydney, Australia. Through various forms of discussions and meetings, the Shandong delegation showcased the new achievements, atmosphere, and vision of Shandong's development to local political figures, chambers of commerce, associations, and business enterprises. The delegation focused on promoting in-depth cooperation in ten priority development areas.

On September 8th, the Shandong Province-South Australia Economic and Trade Cooperation Matching Conference was held in Adelaide, Australia. Government officials, including South Australia Premier Jay Weatherill, and representatives from local governments in Australia and New Zealand enthusiastically participated and delivered speeches. Over 200 representatives from well-known institutions and enterprises, including the Australia-China Chamber of Commerce, ANZ Bank, and Ruiyin Group, actively participated.

After the conference, the delegation visited the Shandong exhibition area at the 2017 Royal Adelaide Show.

On September 11th, a China (Shandong)-New Zealand Business Meeting was successfully held in Auckland, New Zealand.
On September 12th, the delegation inspected the China-Belarus Industrial Park in Minsk, Belarus. The China-Belarus Industrial Park is an important platform for the two countries to jointly promote the "Belt and Road" initiative and deepen economic and trade cooperation. It is hoped that both sides will fully utilize this platform to vigorously promote pragmatic and specific cooperation, create more well-being for the people of both countries, and jointly create a shining example of cooperation under the "Belt and Road" initiative. The Belarusian government will provide firm support. Gong Zheng and Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Garynin, jointly inspected the China-Belarus Industrial Park and attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the Weichai-MAZ joint venture company, delivering speeches respectively.
