06-03

To cope with the impact of the pandemic on foreign trade, help foreign trade enterprises find international orders, deeply cultivate and expand the Indian market, further optimize the international market layout, and train new trade formats and models. This afternoon, the 2020 Jinan Import and Export (India) Cloud Exhibition, hosted by the Jinan Sub-council of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, organized by Shandong Zhenghe International Exhibition Co., Ltd., and supported by the India-China Economic and Cultural Promotion Association, was successfully held in Jinan, Shandong.

This cloud exhibition, through online precise matchmaking and negotiation, offline supply and demand information pre-matching, and with the help of ZOOM cloud video network technology, saw a total of 32 Chinese enterprises and 9 foreign enterprises participate, arranging 37 rounds of online trade negotiations.

Guest Speeches

Zhai Xudong, President of the Jinan Sub-council of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, stated in his speech that in recent years, Jinan City has continuously strengthened ties with various regions in India in multiple fields, and bilateral trade has expanded. Jinan City and Nagpur City in India are sister cities, and the Jinan CCPIT has also led enterprise delegations to participate in exhibitions in India many times. This year, the COVID-19 pandemic has affected economic and trade exchanges between the two sides, but bilateral trade cooperation is an inevitable trend with broad prospects. At this stage, fully utilizing the effectiveness of cloud exhibitions is also a beneficial attempt to innovate bilateral economic and trade cooperation models. We hope that our Chinese and Indian exhibiting enterprises can seize this opportunity, communicate fully, achieve cooperation, gain friendship, and promote stable and long-term economic and trade cooperation between Jinan and India.

Mohammed Saqib, Secretary-General of the India-China Economic and Cultural Promotion Association, delivered a speech, stating that against the backdrop of the continuous spread of the international pandemic, the Jinan Sub-council of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade has innovated service ideas, providing valuable opportunities for export enterprises to explore international markets. Indian purchasing enterprises participating in this cloud exhibition primarily included electromechanical products, hardware tools, auto parts, building materials, medical supplies, and other categories. He hoped that enterprises from both sides could communicate closely for mutual benefit and win-win results. As the capital of Shandong Province, Jinan boasts numerous high-quality import and export enterprises. The Shandong Provincial Government has successfully held the China Shandong Export Commodities (India) Exhibition in New Delhi multiple times. He sincerely hoped that the pandemic would pass soon, and everyone could meet as scheduled at the New Delhi exhibition in November.

Enterprise Promotion

In the second agenda item of the conference, two enterprise representatives from the machinery and equipment industry were invited to give online presentations. They were Jinan Huachen Industrial Co., Ltd. and Shandong Lingpin Machinery Technology Co., Ltd. Jinan Huachen Industrial Co., Ltd. is a professional hydraulic and mechanical manufacturer, primarily engaged in the design, manufacturing, installation, modification, debugging, and sales and technical services of component brands for hydraulic and mechanical systems. Shandong Lingpin Machinery has been engaged in laser machine production since 2007 and, after years of effort, has become a professional laser equipment supplier integrating R&D, production, sales, and service.

Business Negotiations

During the one-on-one business negotiation session, 37 precise matchmaking and negotiation sessions were conducted between export enterprises from Shandong Province in industries such as epidemic prevention materials, construction machinery, and hardware tools, and professional buyers from India. This allowed all participating enterprises to achieve efficient 'speed matching'. Based on the on-site negotiation results, the enthusiasm of participating enterprises was generally high, and many representatives from both sides exchanged business cards and other contact information during the negotiations. At the same time, feedback from post-conference surveys showed that most enterprises have adapted to online exhibition negotiations; about 20% of enterprises were participating in a cloud exhibition promotion and negotiation for the second time, with concise and powerful enterprise promotions and efficient, compact negotiation sessions where every minute could be fully utilized. Through the organization of this Jinan Export Commodities (India) Cloud Exhibition, over half of the enterprises met new product users and established new online trade channels.

Cloud Exhibition Background

According to statistics, the total trade value between China and India in 2019 was 639.52 billion RMB, a year-on-year increase of 1.6%. Of this, China's exports to India were 515.63 billion RMB, a 2.1% increase, and imports from India were 123.89 billion RMB, a 0.2% decrease, resulting in a trade surplus of 391.74 billion RMB. Both China and India are important emerging economies, and strengthening exchanges and cooperation is a win-win situation for both countries. The China Shandong Export Commodities (India) Exhibition, organized and undertaken by Shandong Zhenghe International Exhibition Co., Ltd., has been successfully held for six consecutive years, providing a substantial and effective exhibition platform for many high-quality Shandong enterprises to go global, target popular purchasing countries and regions, and intensify overseas market development efforts.

This year, global trade has been impacted by the pandemic, making participation in online exhibitions and innovating traditional exhibition business models a mandatory option. For many foreign trade enterprises, participating in online exhibitions, a form of 'cloud gathering', will inevitably reshape newer business scenarios, business models, and marketing methods for enterprises. Enterprises must seize the opportunity, rise to the challenge, and forge a brand-new foreign trade landscape.

This conference was organized and fully serviced by Shandong Zhenghe International Exhibition Co., Ltd.

Zhenghe Exhibition visited Nigerian automotive technology and other industry associations to promote cooperation on the 2025 Nigeria (Lagos) China Goods Expo.

From January 3rd to 6th, 2025, representatives of Zhenghe Exhibition's overseas staff successively visited the secretariat of the Nigerian Automotive Technicians Association (NATA), the Amalgamated Union of Automobile Motor Mechanics and Technicians of Nigeria (AUOMMATON), and the Motor Mechanics and Technicians Association of Nigeria (MOMTAN). This visit primarily focused on in-depth discussions and exchanges regarding cooperation for the 2025 Nigeria (Lagos) China Commodities Fair. During the meetings, representatives of Zhenghe Exhibition's overseas staff introduced the basic situation of the Nigeria (Lagos) China Commodities Fair to the heads of the business associations. The heads of the various business associations acknowledged the significant achievements made by the exhibition in recent years. During the discussions, the three industry association leaders provided detailed information about their respective associations. As leaders and promoters of associations related to the automotive industry in Nigeria, these three associations have a wide influence in Nigeria and even West Africa. Against the backdrop of continuously deepening and upgrading China-Africa cooperation, they expressed high expectations for actively promoting trade cooperation between Nigeria and China in the automotive industry. The heads of the associations also stated their willingness to work with Zhenghe International Exhibition to jointly promote the continuous development of the Nigeria (Lagos) China Commodities Fair, uniformly organize member units to participate in the exhibition, and conduct one-on-one matchmaking discussions with Chinese exhibitors. As Africa's second-largest economy and most populous country, Nigeria has a huge demand for automotive and auto parts products, largely relying on imports. In Nigeria, over 90% of Nigerians tend to choose 'tokunbo' (used cars), which makes the 'tokunbo' distribution business very profitable in Nigeria. With the Nigerian government relaxing age restrictions on imported used cars, the volume of used car imports will further increase. Consequently, the auto parts market, both upstream and downstream of Nigeria's used car industry chain, will also see more opportunities. After years of operation by Chinese automakers, Chinese cars have established considerable 'prestige' in Nigeria. At the same time, the scarcity of local car repair outlets and the high cost of spare parts in Nigeria also indicate immense potential for Chinese auto parts exports to the Nigerian market.
