II. Market Introduction:
1. Basic Information
Formerly known as the "Gold Coast," Ghana is located in West Africa, bordering the Gulf of Guinea in the Atlantic Ocean to the south. It has a coastline of 562 kilometers and a land area of nearly 240,000 square kilometers. Ghana's population is approximately 31.4 million, with English as its official language. It boasts convenient land, sea, and air transportation, with Tema Port serving as a major regional seaport.
Due to its advantageous geographical location, Ghana has become a crucial hub for goods trade in West Africa, radiating its influence to a market of over 300 million people within the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
Ghana's economy is primarily agricultural, with its three traditional export products—gold, cocoa, and timber—forming its economic pillars. Historically known as the "Gold Coast," Ghana is renowned for its substantial gold reserves. It also possesses abundant resources such as diamonds, crude oil, iron ore, bauxite, manganese, and limestone. However, Ghana's industrial base is weak, resulting in a high dependence on imported products. Most industrial manufactured goods and daily necessities are imported from Asian countries.
2. Macroeconomic Situation
Ghana is one of the African countries that has shown relatively good economic adjustment and reform, and has been hailed by the World Bank as the "center of Africa's economic revival." According to Ghana's Statistical Service, in 2021, Ghana's GDP was US$77.594 billion, a year-on-year increase of 5.36%; per capita GDP was US$2021. Ghana's radiating market mainly includes Europe, the United States, and ECOWAS countries. China, the European Union, the United States, South Africa, and the United Kingdom are Ghana's major trading partners. In recent years, China's position in Ghana's foreign trade has been steadily rising, surpassing the European Union in 2015 to become Ghana's largest trading partner.
3. Trade with China
According to statistics, in 2021, the total value of China's import and export trade with Ghana was 61.8 billion RMB.
Of this, China's total imports from Ghana amounted to 9.4 billion RMB, while China's total exports to Ghana reached 52.4 billion RMB. In 2021, China's trade surplus with Ghana was 43 billion RMB.

III. Exhibition Background:
The African market offers vast prospects and opportunities. Ghana's strategic location and strong influence on neighboring countries make it a vital hub for import and export goods in West Africa. As the easiest country to do business in West Africa, Ghana's import product structure aligns well with Shandong's industries. To further expand the West African market and fully leverage the "going global" strategy's economic impetus, Shandong Zhenghe International Exhibition Co., Ltd., building on the success of the China Goods Expo in Lagos, Nigeria, will organize companies to participate in the 2023 China Goods Expo in Accra, Ghana. Employing an integrated approach of "offline product display + on-site professional services + online real-time negotiations," we aim to maximize participation and actively build a high-quality trading platform for import and export enterprises.
