II. Exhibition Introduction

The Korea International Machinery Industry Exhibition, first held in 1977, has grown alongside the development of Korea's machinery industry. Successfully held for over 40 years, it is a representative exhibition of the 4th industrial revolution in Korea and seeks further breakthroughs. The exhibition has undergone the entire development process of integrating products, technologies, and personnel through digitalization. The Korea International Machinery Exhibition hopes to create opportunities for exchange and development for each participating company. In 2019, the exhibition reached 2336 booths, with 580 companies from 25 countries and 57,504 professional visitors. An import and export trade meeting for overseas buyers was held concurrently with the exhibition.

The Seoul metropolitan area is a major hub for machinery processing and R&D in Korea. Over the past few decades, many companies that have had a major impact on the development of Korean industry have gathered here. "In 2019, South Korea's machinery industry exports totaled US$59.6 billion, and machinery product imports totaled US$32.95 billion, including US$7.33 billion from China. Exports showed a growth trend for the first time, and China remained South Korea's largest machine tool import market for five consecutive years."
