II. Exhibition Introduction

First held in 1977, the Korea International Machinery Industry Exhibition has grown with the development of Korea's machinery industry, successfully running for over 40 years. As a representative exhibition of Korea's 4th industrial revolution and an event seeking other breakthrough developments, the Korea International Machinery Exhibition has experienced the entire development process of integrating products, technologies, and people through digital means. The Korea International Machinery Exhibition hopes to create opportunities for exchange and development for every exhibiting company. In 2022, the exhibition scale reached 2500 booths, with 580 companies from 25 countries, and attracted 57,504 professional visitors. During the exhibition, import and export trade talks for overseas buyers were also held alongside it in the same period of the exhibition

The Seoul Metropolitan Area is an important hub for machinery processing and R&D in Korea. Over the past few decades, many enterprises with significant influence on Korea's industrial development have gathered here. Now, these enterprises are also keeping pace with global industrial development trends and innovating in digital manufacturing. In 2019, Korea's total machinery industry exports amounted to 59.6 billion USD, and total machinery product imports were 32.95 billion USD, of which 7.33 billion USD were imported from China. Exports showed a growth trend for the first time, and China has remained Korea's largest machine tool import market for 5 consecutive years
