IV. Market Overview

1. Dubai enjoys a superior geographical location, serving as the largest commodity distribution center and transportation hub in the Middle East, radiating a population of 1.5 billion. It is one of the most important commodity distribution centers internationally, with 1% of goods being re-exported through Dubai. Goods can be re-exported to the Gulf region, Eastern Europe, Africa, South Asia, and other regions. Dubai is also the financial and economic center of the entire Middle East.

2. The Middle East has one of the highest per capita car ownership rates in the world, and almost all cars and parts rely on imports. In addition, Gulf countries hold over 45% of the world's oil reserves. Extremely low fuel costs, high income levels, and an annual population growth rate of 6% are important reasons for the rapid growth in demand for automotive parts in the Middle East.

3. Public transportation is not well-developed in the Middle East, especially in the Gulf countries. There is no competition from rail transit for automobiles. Although Dubai is building subways and light rail, these rail transit systems will take many years to mature, so the automotive market and aftermarket are in a golden period.

4. Statistics show that the total retail revenue of automotive parts in the Gulf countries in 2021 was US$5.47 billion, an increase of approximately 4% compared to US$5.26 billion in 2020. Professional institutions predict that the total retail revenue of automotive parts in the Gulf countries in 2025 is expected to grow to US$6.84 billion at an annual growth rate of 5.8%.

5. In 2018, passenger car sales in the Middle East were 2.3 million units, and commercial vehicle sales were 430,000 units. Total sales are expected to reach 3.68 million units in 2024 (passenger car sales are expected to be 3.07 million units, and commercial vehicle sales are expected to be 610,000 units).
