"Vietnam Ho Chi Minh City International Building Materials and Hardware Exhibition VIETBULID" is the largest professional building materials exhibition in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. The exhibition is jointly held by the Vietnam Ministry of Construction and the governments of various provinces and cities in Vietnam, with two sessions held annually in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (Hanoi in March and Ho Chi Minh City in September). Each exhibition attracts exhibitors from more than 20 countries and regions worldwide. The Hanoi exhibition features approximately 1,350 booths, while the Ho Chi Minh City exhibition features approximately 2,250 booths. The exhibitions attract nearly 400,000 professional purchasers and end buyers.

Surveys show that exhibitor satisfaction is as high as 88%, with an average of 53% of exhibitors registering for the next exhibition immediately after the show to secure their original booth location. Due to the significant trading results, more than 100 Chinese exhibitors participate in each exhibition, making it the largest and most popular foreign delegation among Vietnamese buyers.

Market Introduction:

Vietnam is a socialist country in Asia and is projected to become one of the fastest-growing economies in Asia. According to customs data, in May 2014, bilateral trade between China and Vietnam reached US$67.49 billion, a slight decrease of 0.6% month-on-month. Vietnam remained China's second-largest trading partner in ASEAN. China's exports to Vietnam reached US$51.45 billion, down 1.9% month-on-month; China's imports from Vietnam reached US$16.04 billion, up 3.7% month-on-month. China maintained a trade surplus with Vietnam that month, with a surplus of US$35.42 billion.

　　In recent years, Vietnam has been increasing investment in infrastructure construction, including highways, railways, and hydropower stations, as well as renovations of residential buildings in major cities. Data shows that Vietnam's building and decoration materials industry has an annual economic growth rate of approximately 17-25%, with annual housing investment of approximately US$32 billion and a planned investment of US$140 billion in infrastructure construction over the next 5-10 years. This indicates a booming demand and significant business opportunities in the building materials sector. However, due to Vietnam's weak industrial base, outdated production processes, insufficient new product development capabilities, and weak price competitiveness, the Vietnamese building materials market largely relies on imports.

　　Since 2001, paints, natural stone, high-end wooden flooring, high-end sanitary ware, kitchenware, sealing materials, building hardware, fire-fighting equipment and materials from China have continuously entered the Vietnamese market. Chinese-made construction machinery, building hardware, building security equipment, ceramic stone, bathroom and kitchenware, density board, security doors, lighting fixtures, and kitchen and bathroom products have captured a significant market share due to their price and quality advantages. Some building materials products account for up to 93% of the Vietnamese market share, indicating that the best "golden period" for Chinese building materials and decoration products to expand into the Vietnamese market is now.
