Exhibition Introduction: The Bogotá Industrial Exhibition, started in 1954, is held biennially and organized by CORFERIAS International Exhibition Company, Colombia's largest exhibition company. As Colombia's largest and oldest industrial exhibition, its influence has covered the entire South American region. The last Bogotá Industrial Exhibition had 862 participating companies, with an exhibition area of 25,376 square meters. A total of 55,825 professional visitors from nearly twenty countries, including Germany, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Bogotá, Cuba, Spain, Denmark, the United States, Bolivia, France, Italy, the Netherlands, China, Switzerland, and Venezuela, attended the exhibition. According to official statistics, 87% of exhibitors and 90% of visitors gave positive reviews for the exhibition's effectiveness, with exhibitors being particularly satisfied with the high quality of professional visitors.

In recent years, the South American market has continued to heat up, and with economic development, Colombia's economic structure has undergone significant changes. Agriculture, forestry, fishing, and hunting, which accounted for 39.6% of GDP, decreased to 17.4%, while the proportion of industry (including mining, construction, gas, water, electricity, and manufacturing) increased from 16.8% to 34.8%. The main imports include machinery and equipment, chemical products, textiles, and metal materials. According to statistics from the Colombian Customs and Tax Authority, from January to June 2011, the total bilateral trade between Colombia and China reached 4.66 billion US dollars, an increase of 31.9%. Among them, Colombia's imports from China amounted to 3.47 billion US dollars, an increase of 57.5%, accounting for 13.4% of Colombia's total imports. China is Colombia's second-largest source of imports and its second-largest export market.
