II. Exhibition Introduction

The Moscow International Machine Tool Exhibition is jointly organized by the Russian Association of Machine Tool Builders and Expocentre Fairgrounds, supported by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, and the European Machine Tool Industry Association. Held annually, it has successfully held 23 sessions and is Russia's largest machine tool exhibition. In 2023, the net exhibition area reached 42,385 square meters, with 1,074 well-known enterprises from 57 countries participating, including 308 Chinese enterprises. A total of 35,024 visitors attended. Exhibitors included world-renowned machine tool companies such as Amada, Fanuk, Mazak (Japan), Balluff, DMG, Emag, Hurco, Junker, Man Ferrostaal, Trumpf (Germany), Alfleth, Bystronic, Galika, Muller Masch., Reishauer (Switzerland), Comau, Favretto Meccanodora, Rotomors (Italy), Sandvik, Alta, Pramet, Skoda, and Toshulin (Czech Republic).

III. Market Analysis

China and Russia are each other's largest neighbors and both are rapidly developing emerging economies. Deepening cooperation has unparalleled advantages. In 2021, bilateral trade exceeded US$140 billion for the first time, setting a historical high. China's Belt and Road Initiative and Russia's Eurasian Economic Union strategy are highly compatible, providing good opportunities and locational advantages for expanding cooperation in infrastructure construction. Backward infrastructure has become a major factor hindering Russia's economic development. Russia strongly advocates the construction of a trans-Eurasian corridor to improve the level of infrastructure within Russia. To quickly improve the relatively backward infrastructure such as highways and railways in the Far East, the Russian government has proposed a Far East development strategy and actively participates in the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) to strengthen cooperation with China. The Russian government will allocate 450 billion rubles (approximately US$15 billion) to infrastructure projects, mainly including the construction of the Moscow-Kazan high-speed railway, the Moscow Ring Road, and the renovation of the Baikal-Amur Mainline (BAM) and the Trans-Siberian Railway. According to customs data, in 2021, under the global epidemic conditions, China's exports of engineering machinery products to Russia still exceeded US$2.133 billion, a significant year-on-year increase of 83.1%. Russia is China's second-largest export destination for engineering machinery after the United States, surpassing Japan, Indonesia, and Australia.
