EMO is initiated and sponsored by the European Association of the Machine Tool Industries (CECIMO), founded in 1951, and has been held for nineteen sessions to date. It is held every two years and tours between two famous exhibition cities in Europe according to the "Hannover-Hannover-Milan" model. The exhibition period has been shortened from 8 days to 6 days. Review of the Previous Exhibition:

EMO Hannover 2017 covered an exhibition area of 180,582 square meters, with 2,200 exhibitors gathering in Hannover, Germany. Over half of the total 130,000 attendees were from overseas, with 70% from European countries, and a significant increase in attendance from Asia. The exhibition was more successful than the previous one in terms of visitor numbers, business volume, and international appeal. It was hailed by exhibitors as: a true cradle for business success, a window to a fantastic global market.
