A Real Crowd-Puller | The 2025 Latin America (Peru) International Food and Packaging Machinery Exhibition Kicks Off in Grand Style—A Teammate Nearly Got “Squeezed Out”

09-25

Local time September 24, Expoalimentaria 2025, the Latin American International Food, Machinery & Packaging Show (Peru), grandly opened in Lima, Peru, drawing an unprecedented flood of visitors on its opening day. Our exhibitors joked, “I turned around and lost sight of the group leader — I almost got lost in the massive crowd.”
As one of Latin America’s most pivotal industry expos, this year’s fair occupied three exhibition halls covering core segments: food & beverages, processing equipment & packaging materials, food technology, and specialty Peruvian produce. The wide array of exhibits ranged from Chinese food packaging machinery and delicate Japanese snacks to local Peruvian specialties including organic coffee and quinoa, drawing buyers and industry practitioners from across the Americas and the globe. The 2024 edition spanned 20,000 square meters, gathering over 700 exhibitors worldwide and attracting 29,000 domestic and international visitors. Official statistics for 2025 have not yet been released, yet on-site foot traffic suggests the show will welcome even more exhibitors and attendees this year.
The venue was packed shoulder-to-shoulder, with long queues forming especially at booths showcasing food processing machinery. Live demonstrations of extrusion machines, vacuum packaging equipment and other gear held visitors captive. Numerous buyers navigated the bustling crowd with product brochures in hand, rushing to hold talks with exhibitors. “I never expected such incredible turnout. I’d just finished discussing packaging technology with a Chinese exhibitor when I turned around and lost my team,” a buyer from Mexico said with a laugh.
Expoalimentaria 2025 ran through September 26. This wildly popular industry gala not only spawned an amusing running joke among attendees about “tracking down teammates by shouting over the crowd”, but also built a brand-new bridge for food industry cooperation between China, Peru and neighboring South American nations amid the vibrant atmosphere.
