II. Exhibition Introduction:

The Russia International Private Label Exhibition (SobMaExpo 2024) is the first and only exhibition in the private label industry in Russia and the CIS. This is the 11th year of the exhibition in 2024. It is Russia's first B2B platform, providing more opportunities for manufacturers worldwide to collaborate with major retailers. This exhibition is the only platform for private label companies to establish and strengthen business relationships with local and international chain stores, supermarkets, convenience stores, and distributors in Russia.

III. Market Analysis  

Russia has a population exceeding 146 million, and market demand remains strong. Currently, retailers are seeking new suppliers to meet market demands.

• China-Russia trade volume hit a record high in mid-2021.

From January to November 2021, China-Russia trade reached US$130.4 billion, a year-on-year increase of 33.6%, setting a record high and is expected to achieve a new breakthrough, with an annualized value of US$140 billion. Previously, the heads of state of the two countries reached a consensus that China-Russia trade volume is expected to surpass the "US$200 billion" mark in 2024. To this end, the Ministry of Commerce of China and the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia have compiled the "Roadmap for High-Quality Development of China-Russia Goods and Service Trade" and made detailed plans.

• Private Label Trends:

Increased budget for marketing and promotion of private label products; responsible for the quality of private label products; focus on healthy and fresh products; customers prefer to buy private label bread, cereals, and non-food items.

• Key Data on Private Labels in Russia:

The share of private labels in the Russian market structure has been rapidly growing in 2021 and 2022. Most Russian retailers intend to increase the share of private labels on their shelves in 2022-2023 to meet the increased demand. Chain retailers plan for the share of private labels to reach 20% of varieties by 2025.

96.2% of households purchase private label products at least once a year; according to RBC market research, the retail share of private labels can reach up to 8.2-8.5%; according to GFK research, when customers buy private label products, a single bill includes 3 private label products.
